There is still time to submit a program proposal for the Rural Libraries Conference!
We are extending the submission date for conference program proposals for the Rural Libraries Conference to September 12th. Thank you to those who have submitted proposals already. We have gotten many good ones, and can use some more, especially in the areas of service to children, to teens, and to older adults (aging baby boomers), technology, and trustee development.
The Loleta Fyan Small and Rural Libraries Conference 2009 is slated for Wednesday, April 29 - Friday, May 1, 2009 at Grand Traverse Resort. The theme of the conference is Small Libraries, BIG Service! This conference, which happens every other year, attracts about 300-400 attendees.
We are looking for program submissions to go with this theme and with the tracks on library administration (including trustees), celebrating Michigan, literature/readers advisory/collection development, programming and marketing, and technology.
See http://www.michigan.gov/hal/0,1607,7-160-17451_18668_41245-142226--,00.html for the call for programs and program proposal form. Please note: The due date for proposals will not be changed on the forms, but we will accept proposals through Friday, September 12, 2008. Also, visit the conference website at http://rlc2009.ning.com/.
