2009 Loleta Fyan Libraries Conference Awards
Do you know someone at a rural library who is a leader in our profession? How about someone who goes the extra mile when working with children and teens? Do you have a unique collection that serves your communities needs? Do you use technology in innovative and interesting ways? Have you partnered with an organization in your community to put on a great program?
It’s time again to nominate directors, librarians, employees, trustees, and friends of rural libraries for a Loleta Fyan Rural Libraries Conference Award.
Nominations sought for:
Trustee/Friend Award Given to a trustee or Friend of the library for distinguished service to rural library development on the local, state, regional or national level.
Outstanding Small/Rural Librarian Award Recognizes an outstanding leader in the profession. The Librarian of the Conference has made a significant contribution to his/her library and has invested him/herself in efforts to bring about positive change in the small/rural library community. This award goes to an individual now employed in a Michigan library.
Outstanding Service Award Recognizes a librarian or organization that has developed an outstanding collection, program, partnership or service in a small/rural library.
"Fill in the Blank" Award Recognize librarians who deserve to be acknowledged for their special skills. Know a brilliant storyteller? Can your director really stretch a dime? Suggest a creative and unique award and you may just see someone you know honored!
Nomination deadline: Friday, February 13, 2009
Please note that Library Cooperative staff and conference planning committee chairs are not eligible for conference awards.
The 2009 Loleta Fyan Libraries Conference, brought to you by the Library of Michigan, will be held from April 29 to May 1, 2009 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City.
